The roads in our cities are becoming increasingly busier and with the number of cyclists and pedestrians growing we need to be extra vigilant in terms of our surroundings.
We have recently invested in a five-camera CCTV system that allows the driver to have a wide-angle view of side blind spots and to the rear whilst also emitting an audible alarm when turning left and reversing. Our transport office can live view and track the fleet including the load compartment without having to wait for the vehicle to return to base.
The work was carried out by RS Connect, the process was very smooth thanks to Noelle on the sales side and James, the head engineer. All of my requirements and questions were talked through and answered so that the install and end product were exactly how I wanted. The aftercare could not be faulted either, any teething problems were quickly rectified and without any disruption or cost to me.
With TFL introducing the Safer Lorry Scheme recently, we wanted our vans to be as safe and be fully prepared for any future changes in legislation to the 3.5 tonne market. We have recently applied to FORS and await our first audit.
